Over the years beauty products have been made much more complex. More ingredients was added which includes harmful products such as preservatives and scents. Homemade shampoo is cost-effective, customizable, and promotes healthier hair while being kind to the environment, plus you can avoid all of the harsh chemicals.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup liquid castle soap
1/4 cup distilled water
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
10 drops essential oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil or jojoba oil
Our scalp makes its own natural oils to moisturize and protect the hair. Hair does however get greasy overtime but these oils are actually good. That is why you want to use a gentle base which doesn't strip the natural oils from your hair like Castle soap. If you have very oily hair you can add some baking soda into the mix.

When it comes to nourishing your hair hydrating ingredients should be used. Coconut milk or aloe vera is great examples you can use, they make the hair extra soft and shiny. Fragrance is as we all know also important, essential oils like lavender or rosemary can be used. Essential oils does not just smell nice but can have great scalp benefits, for example rosemary oil can help with hair growth.
